High school students debate democracy at the European Parliament: The theme for the 3rd edition has been revealed! Following the resounding success of previous editions, preparations for the third edition of our inter-school debate competition are already underway!

This major event—offering young people the chance to embrace democratic values ​​and sharpen their critical thinking skills at the heart of the European institution—will take place on March 17 and 18, 2027, in Strasbourg. The central theme chosen for this third edition is "DEMOCRACY."

A theme at the heart of civic issues: Democracy Discussions will focus on the foundations of democracy, the contemporary challenges it faces, and the role and engagement of young people within democratic processes. Selected students will face off in the demanding exercise of democratic debate before a panel of experts, drawing on their skills in argumentation, listening, and critical analysis within a prestigious institutional setting.
