ASSEDEL submits its comments and recommendations to the ECtHR regarding the forthcoming amendment to Rule 28 of the Rules of Court

Upon the invitation received from the Registrar of the Court, Ms Marialena Tsirli, ASSEDEL submits its comments and recommendations on the envisaged amendment to Rule 28 of the Rules of Court, which is proposed to introduce the recusal mechanism for all forms of composition of the Court.

ASSEDEL notes that it welcomes this amendment, which provides a concrete monitory mechanism in terms of the independence and impartiality of the judges through the participation of applicants, and brings its observations to ensure better implementation of the amendment in terms of conduct of proceedings.
