ASSEDEL responds to the 2020 Report of Commissioner for Human Rights, CoE

CoE – Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Dunja Mijatovic has visited Turkey between 1 and 5 July 2019. After her visit, the Commissioner’s office has published their Turkey report in February 2020.

Considering the content of the report of the respected Commissioner, ASSEDEL kindly requests the Commissioner to call on the Turkish authorities for, – the investigation and the termination of ill-treatment and torture, – abandoning the current practice of detaining or arresting pregnant women, – refraining the violations to the right to work and property right, – refraining from discriminating based on social origin and annulation of emergency decrees, and – putting an end to the enforced disappearances and abductions.
