Que s\u2019est-il pass\u00e9?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last few days Italy has been shocked by 2 new cases of femicide. Both victims were 22 year old university students, Sara Campanella and Ilaria Sula, murdered by men unable to accept rejection in love. Firstly on the 30th of March Sara Campanella was stabbed and killed in the street in Messina by a 27 year old man. Then, on the 2th of April,near Rome, the body of Ilaria Sula was found in a suitcase, the 22 year student had been missing since the 25th of March as the family denounced. The killer was the girl\u2019s ex-partner who has already confessed the murder to the public institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recent murders of Sara Campanella and Ilaria Sula are not isolated cases, but part of an ongoing social issue in Italy: gender based violence and femicide. In 2024, a total of\u00a0 321 homicides have been committed across the country . Of these, 113 were women and 61 of them were killed by current or former partners unable to accept the end of the relationship. In addition, 31 of the total are within the family\u2019s environment. These tragic numbers highlight a\u00a0 crisis where love is declined into compulsive possession and a rejection may lead to these dreadful consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de la pr\u00e9vention<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ASSEDEL <\/em>condamne ces deux actes tragiques et exprime ses sinc\u00e8res condol\u00e9ances aux familles des victimes. Toutefois, nous estimons qu\u2019il est essentiel de r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir sur le th\u00e8me des politiques de pr\u00e9vention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien que le Parlement italien ait r\u00e9cemment adopt\u00e9 une loi introduisant officiellement le crime de f\u00e9minicide dans le Code p\u00e9nal national ASSEDEL<\/em> soutient que l\u2019approche exclusivement r\u00e9pressive du gouvernement italien n\u2019est pas suffisante pour traiter et r\u00e9soudre efficacement un probl\u00e8me social aussi crucial que les violences bas\u00e9es sur le genre et les f\u00e9minicides. \u00c9tant donn\u00e9 l\u2019importance croissante de ce sujet ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, le gouvernement devrait mettre en \u0153uvre une nouvelle strat\u00e9gie pr\u00e9ventive capable d\u2019entra\u00eener un changement radical au sein de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 italienne et de sa culture patriarcale. L\u2019un des domaines cl\u00e9s d\u2019intervention est le syst\u00e8me \u00e9ducatif. En effet, ASSEDEL <\/em>supports the recent Italian bill,\u00a0 proposed through the initiative of 50,000 civil society signatures, aimed to introduce 33 mandatory hours per year of Emotional Education in the Italian schools. This reform would help young generations to learn how to understand and handle our own emotions and those of others<\/p>\n\n\n\n
